Cypher Pattern

The Cypher pattern (also known as the Royal Canadian) has an AB leg, a 0.382-0.618 retracement of the XA leg. The BC leg is an 1.13-1.414 projection of the XA leg,. And the CD leg is either: an XA 0.786 retracement or 1.27 projection of the AB leg.

Who told you that? Never heard cypher to be called "royal canadian".

Hey man! since I trade harmonic patterns and I have an extra attention to Cypher patterns. The Cypher pattern was created by Darren and, you know it since alex tod you that, and there is nothing called the Royal canadian, nothing related to cypher. You C point must touch 1.272 of XA. Otherwise it is not valid. If you have re modified it, Do you have any proof that your Cypher ratios work? :)
Cheers.

You need to change your B-C leg. A fib extension of 1.13 is not a valid B-C leg. Price MUST extend to at least a 1.27 extension, and can spike as high as it want, but must NOT CLOSE above 1.414 extension.
Also, the C-D leg is 0.786 retracement from X-C, and NOT 1.27 extension of A-B. Those are the original rules of the Cypher pattern. Of course you can modify them, but I wouldn't trade it until you have tested if your modifications are giving you a positive outcome. And then it wouldn't be a Cypher anymore. You must have learnt this from someone who is confusing another pattern with being a cypher.

Thanks for your advice

You'd better consult cypher pattern inventor - Darren Oglsebee. You can find him at Tradeempowered. At least you could ask Akil Stokes or Jason Stapleton or Charles Miles. They all will tell you that cypher's C-point must be not less than 1,272XA and should not close beyond 1,414. The ratios you have wrote are pure nonsense.

THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE :)

Lucky you are mate, the guys I told above will host a free training workshop next week, Thursday the 21-st. As it is usual with these guys, there's a chat box open in the live room where you can ask your questions. I attended some of their workshops in my past and found them very useful in part of pattern recognition. I insist you go there: promos.tradeempowered.com/cracking-the-code/
