Aviva doubles offshore renewable energy capacity
(The Insurer) - Aviva has doubled its offshore renewable energy capacity to 150 million pounds ($200 million) and appointed Roberts Proskovics as head of risk management, renewable energy, the insurer announced on Thursday.
The expanded capacity, which has also increased to 175 million euros, is available to brokers and clients across global markets.
Aviva said the move formed part of its broader strategy within the global corporate and specialty unit to grow its renewable energy offering and position itself as a lead market in the offshore renewables space.
Proskovics has been appointed to lead the renewable energy team within Aviva Risk Management Solutions. He joins from offshore wind developer Corio Generation, where he most recently served as technical lead for floating structures.
Other previous roles include floating wind engineering manager at Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult.
"Aviva’s significant expansion in offshore renewables capacity reflects our continued investment in building a market-leading renewable energy proposition. This move not only supports our brokers’ and clients’ net-zero ambitions but also helps power the future of offshore renewables, helping the UK - and the world - get ready for the clean energy transition," said Matt Gordon, underwriting director, specialty and real estate, at Aviva.
