According to news on March 2, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit against Ripple has not been ruled by a judge, so it did not close on March 31 as predicted by legal professionals.
XRP attorney John Deaton clarified that March 31 is not the deadline for the judge to decide. When the judge decides is uncertain, but it may happen within the next 30 or 60 days. If the SEC wins to classify XRP as a security, certain treatments of many other digital assets and cryptocurrencies will come under its jurisdiction, while U.S. lawmakers may also authorize the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Handle cryptocurrency derivatives and transactions
