Oct 22 - Dell Technologies DELL stock rose about 1.5% on Tuesday following updates to its AI Data Platform, aimed at helping enterprises turn distributed data into actionable insights for AI applications.

The improvements focus on Dell PowerScale and Dell ObjectScale storage engines, which now offer higher performance and better scalability for demanding AI workloads. The company also expanded collaborations with NVIDIA NVDA, Elastic ESTC, and Starburst to strengthen its data engine capabilities.

Dell highlighted that its PowerScale F710 storage solution, now NVIDIA Cloud Partner certified, uses significantly less rack space, fewer network switches, and lower power compared with competitors. ObjectScale, described by the company as the industry's highest-performing object platform, is now up to eight times faster than the previous generation of all-flash object storage.

Additional features include a new Data Search Engine with Elastic for natural language queries and an enhanced Data Analytics Engine with Starburst for seamless data querying across sources.

Arthur Lewis, president of Dell's Infrastructure Solutions Group, said AI's potential depends on unlocking enterprise data, and the upgraded platform is built to simplify pipelines and deliver AI-ready data at scale.

The new tools will roll out throughout 2025 and early 2026 as companies increasingly seek to leverage existing data for AI while addressing performance and security challenges.
