Volkswagen's VOW human resources board member Gunnar Kilian will leave the German carmaker's management board, the company said on Friday, citing differing views on how holding companies should be managed.
Gunnar Kilian, who has been working in this position for the past seven years, had a contract running until the end of 2026.
Kilian took over the negotiations on VW's restructuring together with CEO Oliver Blume at the end of 2024, ensuring no major plants would be closed for the time being, according to German business monthly Manager Magazin.
Kilian's responsibilities will be taken over by Thomas Schaefer, board member and chief executive of Volkswagen passenger cars.
