Updated to improve visuals. How a large triangle shows a change in trend. Added options to turn off candle colouring and another one to remove the Supertrend line. Added a third alert option that will fire if there is either a buy *or* sell signal, so there is potentially no need to have separate alerts for buy and sell. This was requested.
I was trying to use the original super trend. My issue with that was that much of the time I would set an up entry arrow alert and I would not receive it. What alert settings do I need to be setting to get an alert consistently? Should I just set the super trend option for crossing?

I was using SMA9 crossing SuperTrend for alerts previously and would get a false signal from time to time when SuperTrend would paint an arrow during a bar but then not confirm it when bar closed.. Thanks for creating a single indicator with alerts integrated. I will test to see if false alarms persist!

@scarf I noticed the false alarms I was receiving as part of the original script persist with this script. Have you noticed this? Any remedies?
To clarify, if an alert is set on Long or Short and the condition is met anytime during a candle timeframe an alert is sent even if the condition is reversed before the candle closes. Ideally foe me alerts would only be sent when the trend is confirmed and not if it the wick or candle crosses the supertrend line (which can happen multiple times and not confirm). Thanks!!

Thanks for adding the color bars. I was using a separate script to color the bars on top of Supertrend. Now it's all integrated into one script. Appreciate it.

@scarf Could you please explain what PD and factor mean. I changed the PD from 7 to 60 It seems to generate smoother signals but i don't understand why. any help you could provide would be appreciated.

this is the best script....how is the supertrend line formed? Like if I didn't have this indicator, how would I draw the supertrend line on my own...this is very interesting...can you explain?

Is there an setting for the alarm for the supertrend indicator where it give you an alert for an up or down arrow before the candle closes?
