This is a TradingView indicator designed to identify market regimes (bullish, bearish, or neutral) and generate buy/sell signals based on multiple technical factors working together.
Core Concept
At its heart, this indicator tries to answer a simple question: "What kind of market are we in right now, and when should I consider buying or selling?"
It does this by blending several well-known technical analysis tools into a unified system. Think of it as a dashboard that synthesizes multiple indicators into clear, actionable information.
How It Determines Market Regime
The indicator creates what it calls a "Money Line" by combining two exponential moving averages (EMAs) — a fast one (default 8 periods) and a slow one (default 24 periods). These are weighted together, with the fast EMA getting 60% influence by default. This blended line serves as the primary trend reference.
Bullish regime is declared when the short EMA crosses above the long EMA, provided the RSI isn't already in overbought territory. Bearish regime kicks in when the opposite happens — short EMA crosses below long, as long as RSI isn't oversold. Neutral regime occurs when the indicator detects sideways, choppy conditions.
The neutral detection is particularly interesting. It uses two optional methods: one looks at how flat the Money Line's slope is (compared to recent volatility via ATR), and the other checks how close together the two EMAs are as a percentage of price. When the market is grinding sideways, these methods help the indicator avoid falsely calling a trend.
Signal Generation Logic
Buy and sell signals are generated using Donchian Channel breakouts as the trigger mechanism. The Donchian Channel tracks the highest high and lowest low over a lookback period (default 20 bars), using the previous bar's values to avoid repainting issues.
A buy signal fires when price touches or breaks below the lower Donchian band, suggesting a potential reversal from oversold conditions. A sell signal fires when price reaches the upper band. However, these raw breakout signals pass through several filters before being displayed:

Additional Metrics Displayed
The indicator calculates and displays several supplementary metrics in an information panel. The colored dots at the bottom of the chart reflect this: white for weak, orange for moderate, blue for strong.

Ideal target is 1.5 or 2 times of stop loss.
Entry and exit time depends on trading style. Eg. if you want to enter and exit in 5 min time frame, then choose 15 min or 1h as higher time frame as trend filter. Buy and sell signals are also plotted based on this strategy. One should always go with the higher time frame trend. Opting higher time frame trend filter always filters out market noises.

How it works (technical)

Reading & Interpretation
The plot is an oscillator intended to be read similarly to an RSI-style momentum gauge.
The demo includes three reference levels: upper at one hundred, mid at fifty, and lower at zero.
The fills visually emphasize zones above the midline and below the midline. Treat these as context, not as standalone entries.
If the oscillator appears unusually compressed or unusually jumpy, the normalization reference may be adapting to an abrupt change in amplitude. That is expected behavior for adaptive normalization.
Practical Workflows & Combinations
Trend following:
Use structure first, then confirm with oscillator behavior around the midline.
Prefer signals aligned with higher-high higher-low or lower-low lower-high context from price.
Exits/Stops:
Use oscillator loss of momentum as a caution flag rather than an automatic exit trigger.
In strong trends, consider keeping risk rules price-based and use the oscillator mainly to avoid adding into exhaustion.
Multi-asset/Multi-timeframe:
Start with the demo defaults when you want a responsive oscillator.
If an asset is noisier, increase the main length or the signal smoothing length to reduce false flips.
Behavior, Constraints & Performance
Repaint/confirmation: No higher-timeframe sampling is used. Output updates on the live bar like any normal series. There is no explicit closed-bar gating in the library.
security or HTF: Not used, so there is no HTF synchronization risk.
Resources: No loops, no arrays, no large history buffers. Persistent variables are used for filter state.
Known limits: Like any filtered oscillator, sharp gaps and extreme one-bar events can produce transient distortions. The adaptive normalization can also make early bars unstable until enough history has accumulated.
Sensible Defaults & Quick Tuning
Starting values: length six, signal smoothing two.
Too many flips: Increase signal smoothing length, or increase the main length.
Too sluggish: Reduce the main length, or reduce signal smoothing length.
Choppy around midline: Increase signal smoothing length slightly and rely more on price structure filters.

ANALYSIS
The monthly low was broken, creating a lower low (aka a broadening formation), signalling potential exhaustion risk, which can be a catalyst for reversals. The daily candle that tested the monthly low closed as a Failed 2 Down—potentially an early sign of a reversal. With these 2 confluences, it's reasonable to expect the next daily candle to be a 2 Up. Now it's time to look for a lower timeframe entry.
◇ LOWER TIMEFRAME POSITION
HOURLY PRICE ACTION
Dropping down to an hourly chart, we're anticipating a 2 Up on the daily timeframe, so we're looking for a bullish pattern to enter a position long. I personally like the 6:00 AM UTC-5 hourly candle, as it's the midpoint of the day (for futures).
In this specific example, we see the opening gap was filled and there's a potential 2-1-2 bullish reversal set up.
At this point, price can either do one of 5 things:
Form another 1 (inside) candle
Form a 2 up (directional) candle
Form a 2 down (directional) candle
Form a 2 up, fail, and potentially flip to form a bearish 3 (outside) candle
Form a 2 down, fail, and potentially flip to form a bullish 3 (outside) candle
Knowing the finite potential outcomes helps us set up our positions, manage them accordingly, and flip bias if needed.
POSITION SETUP
Here we can set up a position long AND short. To go long, we set a buy stop at the 1h high and stop loss just below the 50% level of the inside candle; to go short, we set a sell stop at 1h low and stop loss just above the 50% level of the inside candle.
If the short gets triggered first, we can wait for price to move in our favor before cancelling the buy order. If the short becomes a failed 2 down, potentially reversing to become a bullish 3, we can either wait for the stop loss to trigger and for the long position to trigger OR we can move the buy stop to our short stop loss and move the long stop loss to the low of the 1h candle.
POSITION REFINEMENT
For an even tighter risk-to-reward, we can drop to a lower timeframe and look for setups that would be an early trigger of the 1h entry. Just know, the lower you go the more noise there is—increasing risk of getting stopped out before the 1h trigger.

In this example, the long buy stop was triggered. It closed bullish, so the sell stop order can be cancelled.
◇ TARGETS & POSITION MANAGEMENT
TARGETS
These depend on whether you intend to scalp, day trade, or swing trade, but targets are typically the highs of previous candles (when bullish) and lows of previous candles (when bearish). It's advised to be cautious of swing pivots as there's a risk of exhaustion and reversal at these levels.
In this example, the nearest target was the previous 12h high and the next target was the previous day high; if you're a swing trader, you could target previous week's high and previous month's high.
POSITION MANAGEMENT
This largely depends on your risk tolerance, but it's common to either:
Move stop loss slightly into profit
Trail stop loss behind higher highs (bullish) or lower lows (bearish)
Scale out of positions at potential pivot points, leaving a runner
Scale into positions on pullbacks on the way to target

This shows performance against the broader S&P 500 index. This is important because even if a stock beats its sector, the entire sector might be weak. You want stocks that beat both their sector AND the market.
Sector vs Market
This reveals "sector rotation" - whether money is flowing into or out of this sector. When this number is positive, the whole sector is hot and leading the market. This is powerful because strong sectors tend to lift all boats, making it easier to find winners.

The indicator calculates performance across four timeframes simultaneously:

- If it beats in 6 out of 8 total periods: Consistency = 75%
- If it beats in 4 out of 8 total periods: Consistency = 50%
For OTHER ASSETS:
Counts benchmark periods only (4 total):
- If it beats benchmark in all 4 periods (1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y): Consistency = 100%

Why consistency matters:
A high RS Score with low consistency might indicate a recent spike that could fade. The best stocks show both high RS Score AND high consistency - they're strong now AND have been strong historically at both the sector AND industry level.
Look for stocks with:
Consistency above 75%: Very reliable strength across all levels
Consistency 50-75%: Decent but check other metrics
Consistency below 50%: Weak or erratic, proceed with caution
7. BETA CALCULATION (Volatility Measure)
Beta measures how much more volatile your stock is compared to its sector.
Beta > 1.2 : High volatility - stock moves more aggressively than sector (marked as "High")
Beta 0.8-1.2 : Normal volatility - moves roughly in line with sector
Beta < 0.8 : Low volatility - stock is more stable than sector (marked as "Low")
Formula used:
Beta = Correlation(Stock, Sector) × (Standard Deviation of Stock / Standard Deviation of Sector)
This uses a 20-period calculation for reliability.
How to use Beta:
- High Beta stocks offer bigger gains but also bigger risks - good for aggressive traders

This tracks consecutive periods (bars) where your stock outperforms or underperforms its sector.

5-9 days: Building momentum (shown in yellow)
1-4 days: Early strength (shown in white)

Why this matters:
Long streaks show trend persistence. A stock with 15+ days above sector is riding strong momentum. A stock with 15+ days below sector is in a sustained downtrend relative to peers.
9. PRICE VS 52-WEEK HIGH
Shows where current price sits relative to its 52-week high (or equivalent for your timeframe).
95%+ (green) : Stock is near all-time highs - strong positioning
80-94% (yellow) : Stock is in a pullback but still relatively strong
Below 80% : Stock has pulled back significantly from highs
Why this matters:
The strongest stocks stay near their highs. When you see a stock with high RS Score AND price near 52W high, you've found a stock with institutional support and strong buying pressure.
10. RELATIVE VOLUME
Compares current volume to the 20-period average volume.
1.5x+ (green) : High volume - significant interest and participation
Around 1.0x : Average volume - normal trading activity
Below 1.0x : Low volume - less interest or inactive period
Why volume matters:
High relative volume confirms price moves. When a stock makes a strong move on 2x or 3x normal volume, it's more likely to sustain. Low volume moves are often just noise.
11. AVERAGE RS STRENGTH
This calculates the average absolute value of all RS readings across the four timeframes.
It shows the magnitude of divergence from the sector, regardless of direction. A high number means the stock moves very differently from its sector (could be much stronger or much weaker). A low number means it tracks closely with the sector.
High Average RS: Stock has strong character, moves independently
Low Average RS: Stock follows sector closely, lacks individual strength
12. SECTOR ROTATION SIGNAL
This indicator automatically detects when a sector is experiencing bullish rotation - meaning money is flowing into the sector and it's outperforming the broader market.
Condition for bullish rotation:
Sector must be beating SPY (market) in both 1-month AND 3-month periods.
Why this matters:
Stocks in hot sectors tend to perform better because they have tailwinds from sector-wide buying. When sector rotation is bullish and your stock has a high RS Score, you've found an ideal setup.
The indicator adds +5 bonus points to the RS Score when sector rotation is bullish.
13. MOMENTUM DETECTION
The indicator compares 1-month RS to 3-month RS to detect if momentum is improving or declining.
RS Momentum Improving: 1M RS is better than 3M RS - stock is getting stronger (adds +5 to score)
RS Momentum Declining: 1M RS is worse than 3M RS - stock is getting weaker (subtracts -5 from score)
Why momentum matters:
You want to catch stocks as momentum is building, not after it's already peaked. Improving momentum suggests the strength is accelerating, not fading.

Q: My stock has high RS Score but is going down. Why?
A: RS Score measures relative performance (vs sector/market), not absolute price direction. A stock can fall 5% while its sector falls 10% - that's still positive relative strength. In bear markets or sector corrections, high RS stocks often fall less than peers.
Q: Should I only trade stocks with RS Score above 70?
A: For long positions, yes - focus on 70+ scores. These stocks have proven they can beat their sector. However, for pairs trading or relative value plays, you might also short stocks with scores below 40 while longing stocks above 70.
Q: What if my stock doesn't have a sector?
A: The indicator handles this gracefully. If no sector is detected, it will compare directly to the market (SPY for stocks). Some rows may show N/A, but the indicator will still provide useful market-relative data.

Q: What's the difference between RS Score and Consistency?

Q: Do the alerts repaint?
A: No. All alerts fire only on bar close (barstate.isconfirmed) and use properly configured data with lookahead=off. Once an alert fires, it's final and won't change.
Q: What timeframe should I use?
A: For swing trading: Daily or Weekly. For day trading: 1H or 4H. For position trading: Weekly. Use "Chart Timeframe" mode and switch your chart timeframe to change the analysis period easily.
Q: Why is Days Above Sector showing 0?
A: This means your stock is not currently outperforming its sector. If Days Below Sector is also 0, it means the RS is exactly neutral (very rare). Check the actual RS values to see current standing.
Q: Can I compare to a different market benchmark than SPY?
A: Currently the indicator uses SPY (S&P 500) as the default US stock market benchmark. For crypto it uses CRYPTOCAP:TOTAL, for forex it uses currency indices, etc. The benchmark auto-adjusts based on asset type.
Q: What's a good Beta value?
A: It depends on your strategy. Aggressive traders prefer Beta above 1.2 (more volatility = bigger moves). Conservative traders prefer Beta 0.8-1.0 (more stable). Beta is neutral - it's about matching your risk tolerance.
Q: How often does the table update?
A: With Real-time Indicator enabled: Every tick (constant updates). With it disabled: Only on bar close. Either way, the underlying data is identical and non-repainting - the toggle only affects update frequency and the clock icon display.
Q: My stock is showing "AVOID" but it's up 50% this year. Is the indicator wrong?
A: Not necessarily. The indicator measures RELATIVE performance. If your stock is up 50% but the sector is up 100%, your stock is actually underperforming by 50%. The indicator helps you identify when you should switch to stronger stocks in the same sector.
Q: What does "Strong Buy Setup" really mean?
A: It means three things aligned: 1) RS Score above 70 (strong stock), 2) Consistency above 75% (reliable strength), 3) Sector rotation is bullish (hot sector). This combination historically correlates with stocks that continue outperforming. However, this is NOT financial advice - always do your own analysis.
Q: Can I use this for options trading?
A: Yes! High RS Score stocks make good candidates for call options (bullish bets) while low RS Score stocks may work for puts (bearish bets). Higher Beta stocks will have more volatile options (higher premiums but more movement).
Q: Why is my crypto showing N/A for sector?
A: Cryptocurrencies don't have "sectors" like stocks do. Instead, the indicator compares crypto to the total crypto market cap. This is normal and expected behavior.

A: If you're analyzing a sector ETF (like XLK), it will compare to SPY (market). If you're analyzing SPY itself, some comparisons won't be available (can't compare SPY to itself). The indicator intelligently adapts to avoid circular comparisons.
Q: What if my stock doesn't have industry data?
A: Not all stocks are mapped to specific industries (only 30+ major industries are covered). If no industry is detected, the indicator will still work using only sector analysis. The RS Score calculation will use 100% sector weight instead of the 60%/40% split.
Q: Why does Industry vs Sector matter?
A: Industry vs Sector shows if your specific industry is hot or cold within its broader sector. For example, Semiconductors (SMH) might be outperforming Technology sector (XLK) even though both are up. This helps you find not just strong sectors, but the strongest industries within those sectors.
Q: Can I disable Industry analysis?
A: Yes! In the "Industry Analysis" settings group, you can toggle off "Show Industry Analysis in Table" to hide all industry rows. However, even when hidden, industry data still contributes to the RS Score calculation for stocks.
Q: Why is my Consistency Score lower for stocks than other assets?
A: For stocks with industry data, Consistency counts 8 periods (4 Sector + 4 Industry periods) instead of just 4. This means the bar is higher - your stock needs to beat both sector AND industry consistently. A stock that beats sector in all 4 periods but lags industry in 2 periods will show 75% consistency (6/8), not 100%.
BEST PRACTICES
Use as a screening tool - Set RS Score filter to 70+ and quickly scan your watchlist. Only strong stocks will show the table.
Combine with technical analysis - RS Score tells you WHAT to trade, your chart tells you WHEN to enter.
Check multiple timeframes - Switch between Daily and Weekly to see if strength holds across different time horizons.
Monitor sector rotation - When sector goes from bearish to bullish rotation, it's often a great time to enter stocks in that sector.
Watch Industry vs Sector - Stocks in hot industries within hot sectors have double tailwinds. Prioritize Industry vs Sector positive values.
Pay attention to consistency - High RS Score with low consistency might be a spike that fades. Look for 70%+ consistency across BOTH sector and industry.

How It Works:
The scanner uses the request.security() function to fetch EMA data from multiple symbols and timeframes simultaneously. For each symbol-timeframe combination, it calculates four exponential moving averages (20, 50, 100, and 200 periods) and monitors for crossovers:

RSI Regime: Continuation vs Reversal Indicator Description: RSI Regime (Continuation vs. Reversal)
This indicator uses the standard Relative Strength Index (RSI) to analyze market momentum and categorize it into three "regimes." Its primary goal is to help you determine if an overbought (OB) or oversold (OS) signal is likely to be a continuation of the current trend or a reversal point.
It also identifies "Fast Trend Starts," which are exceptionally fast and powerful moves from one extreme to the other.
Core Features & How to Read It
1. The Three RSI Regimes (Background Color) The script calculates a moving average (SMA) of the RSI to determine the dominant medium-term momentum. This is shown as the background color:
Bull Regime (Green Background): The RSI's average is high (e.g., above 55). The market is in a clear uptrend.
Bear Regime (Red Background): The RSI's average is low (e.g., below 45). The market is in a clear downtrend.
Range Regime (Orange Background): The RSI's average is in the middle. The market is consolidating or undecided.
2. Overbought (OB) & Oversold (OS) Signals
When the RSI line crosses into the overbought (e.g., >70) or oversold (e.g., <30) zones, the indicator generates one of two types of signals:
A) Continuation Signals (Small Triangles: ►)
These signals suggest an OB/OS reading is just a "pause" and the main trend will likely continue.
Orange ► (at the top): Appears when RSI becomes overbought while the market is already in a Bull Regime. This suggests the uptrend is strong, and this OB signal may not lead to a big drop.
Teal ► (at the bottom): Appears when RSI becomes oversold while the market is already in a Bear Regime. This suggests the downtrend is strong, and this OS signal may not lead to a big bounce.
(Note: An optional Price EMA filter can be enabled to make these signals more strict.)
B) Reversal Signals (Small Labels: "OS→>50" / "OB→<50")
These labels appear after an OB/OS signal to confirm that a reversal has actually occurred.
"OS→>50 Reversal" (Aqua Label): Appears if the RSI becomes oversold and then recovers back above the 50 midline within a set number of bars. This confirms the oversold dip was a reversal point.
"OB→<50 Reversal" (Orange Label): Appears if the RSI becomes overbought and then falls back below the 50 midline within a set number of bars. This confirms the overbought peak was a reversal point.
3. "Fast Trend Starts" (Large Labels)
This is a unique feature that identifies the fastest percentile of market moves. It measures how many bars it takes for the RSI to go from one extreme to the other and flags when a move is in the top 5% (default) of all historical moves.
"Long Pullbacks (Fast OS→BullRange)" (Large Green Label): This powerful signal appears when the RSI moves from oversold (<30) all the way up to the bull range (>60) exceptionally fast. It identifies a very strong, fast, and decisive bounce that could signal the start of a new uptrend.
"Short Pumps (Fast OB→BearRange)" (Large Red Label): This appears when the RSI moves from overbought (>70) all the way down to the bear range (<40) exceptionally fast. It identifies a very sharp, fast rejection or "pump-and-dump" that could signal the start of a new downtrend.
Key User Inputs
RSI Length (14): The lookback period for the main RSI calculation.
OB (70) / OS (30): The standard overbought and oversold levels.
Bull/Bear Range Threshold (60/40): These are the levels used to confirm the "Fast Trend Starts." They are separate from the OB/OS levels.
RSI Regime SMA Length (21): The lookback period for the moving average that determines the background regime.
Use Price EMA filter (true): If checked, the small "Continuation" triangles will only appear if the price is also above (for bulls) or below (for bears) its own 50-period EMA.
Fastest X% duration (5.0): This sets the percentile for the "Fast Trend Start" labels. 5.0 means it only flags moves that are in the fastest 5% of all recorded moves.
Trend Strength IndicatorThis is a Trend Strength Indicator that shows you the immediate trend and historical trend of price for up to 7 higher timeframes.
It shows the strength of each timeframe by showing a red or green dot based on where price is at compared to the previous higher timeframe candle. The brighter red or green the dot is, the stronger the trend is compared to that higher timeframe candle.
The colors and timeframes can be customized to suit your preference and you can also turn off as many timeframes as you’d like if you want less time frames to show up on the indicator.
It also includes alerts for when all timeframes are bullish or all timeframes are bearish.
Keep these timeframes set to higher time frames than your chart so you can trade in the direction of the overall higher timeframe trend.
Bullish Scoring & Colors
If the current candle close is above the midline of the higher time frame candle, it is given a score of 1 and a dark green dot. If the current candle close is above the higher timeframe candle body, then it is given a score of 2 and a medium green dot. If the current candle close is above the high of the higher time frame candle, it is given a score of 3 and a bright green dot.
The higher the score the stronger the bullish trend and the brighter green the dot will be.
Bearish Scoring & Colors
If the current candle close is below the midline of the higher timeframe candle, it is given a score of -1 and a dark red dot. If the current candle close is below the higher timeframe candle body, then it is given a score of -2 and a medium red dot. If the current candle close is below the low of the higher timeframe candle, it is given a score of -3 and a bright red dot.
The lower the score, the stronger the bearish trend and the brighter red the dot will be.
Trend Scoring Modes
We gave you the option to set the trend scoring mode to either score based on price above or below the midline for quick and easy trend identification, or using the midline, candle body and highs and lows to give you a more detailed view of the trend strength. You can switch between these modes by selecting your preferred mode in the settings panel. The default is Open, High, Low, Close + Midline.
Sending Trend Direction To External Indicators
We coded in the ability to use the trend strength score as a signal that you can use to filter other indicators. This feature is great for notifying signal generating indicators what direction the market is trending in so that the signal generating indicator only gives signals in the direction of the trend.
This feature works by providing a data output of 1, 0 or -1. 1 means the trend is bullish, 0 means the trend is neutral and -1 means the trend is bearish.
This score is calculated by using the score of each timeframe that is turned on and checking if all timeframes are in the same direction or not. So if 3 timeframes are turned on and they are all bullish, the indicator will provide a data output of 1. This tells your external indicators that the trend is bullish.
This data output can be found in the data window and is labeled Trend Direction To Send To External Indicators.
At the bottom of the settings panel, there is a setting called Trend Score Threshold For External Indicators. This setting is the score threshold that all timeframes will need to meet to allow a trend strength signal to go through. So if set to 1, then all timeframes must be scored 1 or higher for bullish or -1 or lower for bearish. If set to 2, then all timeframes must be 2 or higher for bullish or -2 or lower for bearish. If set to 3, then all timeframes must be 3 for bullish or -3 for bearish. If all timeframes have met this threshold, then a bullish or bearish signal can be sent to your external indicator as a trend filter.
Labels
There are labels to the right of each row of dots, telling you which timeframe is which so you can easily identify what timeframe each row is showing the trend for.
Alerts
You can set alerts for when all timeframes are bullish or when all timeframes are bearish. If you have some time frames turned off at the time of creating your alerts, then it will only require all timeframes that are on to be all bullish or bearish to generate an alert. Make sure to set your alerts to once per bar close to ensure you don’t get premature alerts that aren’t yet valid.
Backtesting
This indicator helps you quickly identify and backtest the trend direction, how strong that trend is on multiple timeframes and helps you spot reversals and trend continuations. Make sure you look back at a lot of historical data to see how price moves when trend changes take place and how well price continues in each direction compared to the overall trend. This will help you gain confidence in reading the indicator and using it to your advantage when trading.
Best Way To Use The Indicator
This indicator is designed to help you quickly identify the trend on various different timeframes. The brighter the green dots are, the stronger the bullish trend is. The brighter the red dots are, the stronger the bearish trend is.
Trade in the direction of the trend. If the colors are mixed green and red, then price is likely to chop back and forth, so only trade the extremes of the ranges when that happens.
When most of the lower timeframe dots are the same color, that means it is a strong trend and you should place trades in the direction of the trend to be safe. The lower timeframes will start trending before the higher timeframes, so take notice of the lower timeframe colors starting to agree with each other and then take advantage of the trend that is forming.
You can also spot reversals with this indicator by watching for the lower timeframes to start changing color after a strong trend in one direction. The lower timeframes will start to change color one by one, indicating that the trend is actually changing direction.
For best results, make sure you wait for the trend to show all bullish or all bearish at the same time before you place any trades. If you can be patient enough to do that, you will increase the probability of winning your trade because you are trading with the direction of the overall higher timeframe trend which is typically an easy way to win more trades. Of course wait for pullbacks during the trend so you can keep a tight stop loss after entering your trade.
If you are scalping, you can turn off the higher timeframes and just use the 1 hour through 1 day. This won’t be as reliable as using all timeframes and waiting for them to align, but it is suitable for scalping quick intraday movements.

Mean reversion first, continuation second. This strategy targets equities and ETFs on daily timeframes. It waits for price to revert from a Bollinger location with candle and EMA agreement, then manages risk with ATR based exits. Uniqueness comes from two elements working together. One, an adaptive band multiplier driven by volatility of volatility that expands or contracts the envelope as conditions change. Two, a bias memory that re arms the same direction after any stop, target, or time exit until a true opposite signal appears. Regimes with extreme one sided trend and very low volatility can reduce mean reversion edges. Results vary by symbol and venue. Past results never guarantee future outcomes.

RECAPS is a monthly process for comparing and re-pricing eligible equities, municipals, corporate bonds, and Unit Investment Trusts (UITs) that have aged two business days or more .
At its core, the Reconfirmation and Re-pricing Service (RECAPS) is a risk management tool used by the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC), a subsidiary of the DTCC. Its primary purpose is to reduce the risks associated with aged, unsettled trades in the U.S. securities market .

Method overview in plain language
The day is anchored with a VWAP that updates from the daily session start. Price minus VWAP is the residual. Percentiles of that residual measured over a rolling window define location extremes for the current day. A regime score compares residual volatility to price volatility. When expansion is low, the day is treated as balanced and the model fades residual extremes if 1 minute micro flow points back to VWAP. When expansion is high, the model trades breakouts outside the VWAP bands if slope and micro flow agree with the move.
Base measures
• Range basis: True Range smoothed by ATR for stops and targets, length 14
• Return basis: Not required for signals; residuals are absolute price distance to VWAP
Components
• Daily Anchor VWAP Bands. VWAP with standard-deviation bands. Slope sign is used for trend confirmation on breakouts
• Residual Percentiles. Rolling percentiles of close minus VWAP over Signal length. Identify location extremes inside the day
• Expansion Ratio. Standard deviation of residuals divided by standard deviation of price over Signal length. Classifies balanced versus expanding day

Fusion rule
Gating rather than weighting. First choose regime by Expansion Ratio versus the Expansion gate. Inside each regime all listed conditions must be true: location test plus micro-flow threshold plus session window plus cooldown. Breakouts also require VWAP slope alignment.
Signal rule
• Long suggestion on balanced day: residual at or below the lower percentile and micro flow positive above the gate while inside session and cooldown is satisfied
• Short suggestion on balanced day: residual at or above the upper percentile and micro flow negative below the gate while inside session and cooldown is satisfied
• Long suggestion on expanding day: close above the upper VWAP band, VWAP slope positive, micro flow positive, session and cooldown satisfied
• Short suggestion on expanding day: close below the lower VWAP band, VWAP slope negative, micro flow negative, session and cooldown satisfied
• Positions flip on opposite suggestions or exit by brackets

A Marubozu candle is a powerful continuation pattern characterized by the complete absence of wicks on one side, indicating strong directional momentum. This strategy specifically detects:
- Bullish Marubozu: Close > Open AND Low = Open (no lower wick)
- Bearish Marubozu: Close < Open AND High = Open (no upper wick)
When price returns to test these levels, the indicator generates trading signals with predefined risk-reward parameters.
CORE METHODOLOGY
Detection Logic:
The script scans each bar for Marubozu formations using precise price comparisons. When a wickless candle appears, a horizontal line extends from the opening price, marking it as a potential support (bullish) or resistance (bearish) level. These levels remain active until price touches them or until the maximum line limit is reached.
EMA Filter (Optional):
An exponential moving average filter enhances signal quality by requiring proper trend alignment. For bullish signals, price must be above the EMA when touching the level. For bearish signals, price must be below the EMA. This filter reduces counter-trend trades and improves win rates in trending markets. Users can disable this filter for range-bound conditions.
Dynamic Risk Management:
The strategy employs ATR-based (Average True Range) position sizing rather than fixed point values. This approach adapts to market volatility automatically:
- In low volatility: Tighter stops and targets
- In high volatility: Wider stops and targets proportional to market movement
Default settings use a 2:1 reward-to-risk ratio (1x ATR for take-profit, 0.5x ATR for stop-loss), but users can adjust these multipliers to match their trading style.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1 - Pattern Detection:
On each bar, the indicator evaluates whether the candle qualifies as a Marubozu by comparing the high, low, open, and close prices. When detected, the opening price becomes the key level.
Step 2 - Level Management:
Horizontal lines extend from each Marubozu's opening price. The indicator maintains two separate arrays: one for unbroken levels (actively extending) and one for broken levels (historical reference). Users can configure how many of each type to display, preventing chart clutter while maintaining relevant context.
Step 3 - Signal Generation:
When price returns to touch a Marubozu level, the indicator evaluates the EMA filter condition. If the filter passes (or is disabled), the script draws TP/SL boxes showing the expected profit and loss zones based on current ATR values.
Step 4 - Trade Tracking:
Each valid signal enters the tracking system, which monitors subsequent price action to determine outcomes. The script identifies whether the take-profit or stop-loss was hit first (discarding trades where both trigger on the same candle to avoid ambiguous results).

- Forex pairs use standard lot calculations
- Stocks and crypto use their respective point values
