Something just doesn't add up!

I'm noticing when GME's price goes down the media is quick to announce it; however this isn't the case when the price rises. Why is that?
Today it was announced that JP Morgan sold 13B worth of bonds. This news turned heads because it was reportedly the largest bank deal. They also announced their earnings yesterday. Their net income increased 5-fold to 14.3B. Now why on earth would you need to raise money through debt securities if you're making significant income?
