Campbell (CPB.N) will buy Cape Cod chips-maker Snyder‘s-Lance Inc (LNCE.O) for $4.87 billion in cash to combat sagging soup sales. Campbell completed its $700 million acquisition of organic soup and broth maker Pacific Foods last week, when media reports first surfaced about a possible deal with Snyder‘s-Lance.
