In fact, any coin can easily replace Bitcoin if it comes with a more "efficient" proposal for the Consensus, PoW, Volatility, PoS consistent earnings. We are seeing some efforts to "change" the "immutable" Bitcoin for something better, since the name is a "brand" but lets wait and see if those "changes" are going to continue keeping the Bitcoin (BTC) in its leadership or make it lose its supporters as happened with others that tried to do the same.
