Just started up reading on Qtum. It is 1) An ethereum based solution 2) Suitable for Internet of Things - competitor of IOTA [Both are founding members of the trusted IOT Alliance trusted-iot.org/ ] 3) Supposedly combines features of both Bitcoin and Ethereum , is expected to be quantum computing resistant-not sure. 4) Seems to have VC backing and indusrty/academia partnerships. 5) Fixed supply of 100mn , 73Mn circulating 6) A top 15 crypto 7) Worth ~50/UNIT
Overall looks like a promising candidate for 2018 and beyond.
The name Qtum or Quantum is borrowed from physics and is an homage to a minimum amount of any physical entity involved in an interaction, likewise to the penny or peso. I don't believe it to be Quantum Computing resistant in their roadmap, but i also dont believe that 99.9% of the population can actually even phathom the implications of "quantum computing" will do to our civilization, let alone encryption, and is moreso just marketing hype/buzz at this point. Otherwise, your other points are pretyy spot on, cheers m8!
