Raytheon Missile Systems has signed a $1 billion deal with Aerojet Rocketdyne for Raytheon’s Standard Missiles (SM) for the next five years, Raytheon announced on March 26th. The reason why they came in with this agreement is because it will help to stabilize and lower the cost on the supply chain. This is not a good reason. To me, it feels like it is trying to put a bandage over a wound that Raytheon just lost a contract to Lockheed.
