SPY SPX Can we have a 1987 Style Crash?

We might think that we are immune to this happening again. We have high speed algorithms that trade in a blink of an eye. We "feel" safe because we have "circuit breakers" to prevent this from happening again...hmmm... how far can it fall between each circuit breaker? Can we get our orders and trades in? Will our brokers website platforms lock up on us? This could be mean and nasty if this happens. I'm an Old Fart Trader, but I lived and traded through this 1987 crash. It was a 2 hour wait on the phone to try to get a broker in those days. Nowadays we think our personal computers will handle this just fine. Hmmm... what happens when systems crash? Have you ever had your computer crash? Me to! Not fun. Not to saying this crash will happen, just saying be prepared with our accounts. I've copied and pasted the actual stock prices from 1987 and used the same % proportions of what todays prices would be scaled from 1987. Hope this helps!
