In an impressive display of resilience and growth, WMT stock has hit a new all-time high of $92.27. With a hefty market cap of $738.5 billion, the company is already a heavyweight - still growing and growing and growing. This milestone underlines the retail giant's successful strategies in a highly competitive market and reflects a significant increase in value of +60% in price action within this year 2024. Additionally, the company has maintained its dividend payments for a remarkable 52 consecutive years, although current technical indicators suggest the stock may be overbought.

However, the magnificent price development of WMT shares can fundamentally be justified. Because WMT caused a stir with a strong performance in the third quarter of 2024. The retail giant reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.58, beating analysts' forecasts by $0.05. Consolidated sales rose 5.5%, while U.S. comparable sales rose 5.3%, beating expectations of 4.0%. The growth in the e-commerce sector was particularly impressive: global sales rose by 27% and in the US market by 22%. In response to these results, several financial institutions, including Barclays, KeyBanc Capital Markets, Piper Sandler, Baird, Guggenheim and RBC Capital Markets, have upgraded their forecasts for WMT . The new price targets range between $90.00 and $100.00, while maintaining positive ratings. And also stick with my price target of $100 for our long WMT 4XSetUp.

The WMT share has been rising and rising and rising - for days, for weeks, for months, for quarters, for years - and/or since the outbreak of the coronavirus outbreak in 2020 exponentially. Sure - food, everything we need in everyday life is more or less available in WMT . Business is going well - and/or the people in charge can obviously do the math. The business finances itself from cash flow - and profits also increase at a higher percentage than the dividend is paid. Hence? It doesn't get any better! I know what I'm talking about because I personally have been working full-time in a large supermarket here in Germany since 2020. However, EDEKA, also the largest supermarket here in my homeland germany in terms of sales figures, is not listed on the stock exchange, like Wal-mart in the USA.

But I would also like to pour some water into the wine, as we say colloquially here in Germany. Because, in terms of the price action of WMT I am personally a little bit worried about the development at first glance. But as long as I think about it and look at the fundamental numbers, the price action of WMT at this level can still be justified. As written, for example, quarterly profits rise higher in percentage terms than the dividends paid out - a cash machine! No question? And so the penultimate major GAP was created during the publication of the last quarterly report. Before the last small bullish GAP on Thursday & Friday the last week before between $88.64 & $88.93. Admittedly not a GAP mentioned - but still $0.29 big. What the robust, constructive price action of the WMT share proves. Which is why we will definitely continue to let run this long WMT 4XSetUp. And that even if the share falls back below the small bullish GAP that was just mentioned. But why should traders and/or investors currently want to do this? I don't know!
