Volume inspectorThe "Volume inspector" is designed to provide a deep dive into the volume dynamics within a given larger timeframe by dissecting the positive and negative volume of candles from a lower timeframe. This analysis helps in understanding how the volume within a single candle is composed, whether it leans towards buying or selling pressure. The indicator sums up the positive and negative volumes to present the net volume in columns, offering a clear visual representation of the market's buying or selling intensity at a glance.
Additionally, it features an area between two Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) to gauge the prevailing trend direction. A green spread between the EMAs signals strong buying pressure, with the width of the area indicating the strength of this pressure. Conversely, a red area points to selling pressure, warning users to exercise caution — it advises against buying the asset when the spread is narrow or red, suggesting weak buying momentum or strong selling momentum.
The tool recommends using daily candles as the primary timeframe for a broad market overview, with the following configurations for the lower timeframe analysis:
5 minutes for highly liquid and voluminous assets,
15 or 30 minutes for assets with lower volume to ensure accuracy without excessive market noise.
It's important to note that this indicator does not predict future market movements but rather analyzes the current behavior of the asset, making it a valuable tool for traders looking to understand immediate market sentiment and trend strength.

Modified On Balance VolumeModified On Balance Volume (mOBV) Indicator
The "Modified On Balance Volume" (mOBV) indicator is designed to provide insights into the cumulative buying and selling pressure in the market, with modifications for close, high, and low prices. It incorporates On Balance Volume (OBV) calculations for each of these price types and further refines the analysis by applying Simple Moving Averages (SMA).
Key Features:
Calculation of OBV for Close, High, and Low Prices:
Traditional OBV values are computed for close, high, and low prices, reflecting the cumulative volume based on the sign of price changes.
SMA Smoothing:
Simple Moving Averages (SMA) are applied to the calculated OBV values, introducing a smoothing effect to highlight trends in the buying and selling pressure.
Relative Values for High and Low OBV:
The script transforms the OBV values for high and low prices into relative values compared to the SMA of the OBV for close prices.
User-Defined SMA Length:
Users can customize the length of the SMA through a parameter, allowing flexibility in adapting the indicator to different market conditions.
Error Handling:
The script includes a mechanism to detect if no volume data is provided by the data vendor, alerting users to potential issues with the dataset.
Visual Representation:
The calculated OBV values for close, high, and low prices, as well as the SMA of the OBV for close prices, are visually represented on the chart with customizable colors and transparency settings.
Usage Tips:
Rising values indicate increasing buying pressure, while falling values suggest increasing selling pressure.
Crosses between the OBV lines and the SMA line may be used to identify potential trend changes.
Note:
This script is intended for informational purposes and should be used in conjunction with other technical analysis tools for comprehensive market analysis.
VDVA - Volume Delta Volatility AmplifierThis script defines an indicator named VDVA (Volume Delta Volatility Amplifier), which combines volume delta (the difference between volume up and volume down) and volatility (ATR) into one line. This line is then smoothed using a moving average and compared with the zero level and a shorter-period moving average. The script also plots shapes when the rate of change of the line exceeds the first standard deviation. Moreover, the script uses Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels to determine the squeeze condition, which is a signal of a potential breakout. Finally, the script plots two bar charts that show the volume up and volume down multiplied by ATR.
dark green line - bullish
light green line - potential bearish
dark red line - bearish
light red line - potential bullish
blue cloud - bullish
yellow cloud - bearish
red triangle - bearish entry
green triangle - bullish entry
purple cross - squeeze
Volume SentimentIn 1994 Tushar Chande and Stanley Kroll published a epic book of modern trading indicators called "The New Technical Trader". I highly recommend it. Two indicators that stood out was the Market Thrust and Thrust Oscillator. They suggested these as alternatives to the Arms Index. Rather than using the Advancing Stocks and their associated volume, I applied their logic to individual bars.
Bar Sentiment can be defined and the difference between the low and the close relative to the bar width. Smaller values are bearish and larger one are bullish. A bullish candle would close above its mid-point. Conversely, a close below the candle mid-point is considered bearish.
With that, this script sums the bullish or bearish (as defined above) volume over a user defined number of bars. It gives a unique indication of the volume compared to typical volume indicators. It also gives the user the option to set a "High Volume" alert when the total volume is greater than the moving average. This is helpful for identify increasing activity in your security.
Enjoy and happy trading!
Crypto Aggregated Volume «NoaTrader»If you use volume in your crypto analysis, you may have encountered the situation which an exchange's policy change can affect your judgement falsely. For example, you can see the huge difference of volume on the given chart since binance transferred its fee discount from USDT to TUSD pair.
This script sums up volume of all major centralized exchanges ( according to coinmarketcap ) on the symbol you are visiting and has an option to exclude Binance's volume which can give you a more stable understanding for judgement when needed (and you can see the difference on the chart).
The colors also give a good vision about the relative volume in the area which can show the interest of market in trading.
The script only aggregates the same symbol on different exchanges and does not get the volume from other pairs.
Included CEXs are:

Volume Accumulation Oscillator (VAO)The Volume Accumulation Oscillator (VAO) is a powerful momentum-based indicator designed to assess the strength of volume accumulation in a given asset. It helps traders identify periods of intense buying or selling pressure and potential trend reversals.
The VAO calculates the Net Volume Accumulation (NVA) by considering the volume, open, close, high, and low prices. It then applies exponential moving averages (EMAs) to smooth the NVA and calculates the VAO by comparing the smoothed NVA with its EMA over a specified signal period.
The VAO is plotted as a line chart, providing a clear visual representation of its values. Positive VAO values indicate strong bullish volume accumulation, suggesting potential upward price movement. Conversely, negative VAO values indicate significant selling pressure and the possibility of a downtrend.
To enhance the analysis, the indicator includes reference levels such as the zero line and +/-1 levels. These levels serve as important reference points for interpreting the VAO values and identifying key turning points in the market.
Additionally, the VAO histogram is included, which further illustrates the strength and direction of volume accumulation. The histogram bars are color-coded, with green bars representing positive VAO values and red bars representing negative VAO values.
The Volume Accumulation Oscillator is a versatile tool that can be used in various trading strategies. Traders can look for divergences between the VAO and the price chart to identify potential trend reversals. Combining the VAO with other technical analysis techniques can provide valuable insights into market dynamics and help traders make informed trading decisions.
Note: It is recommended to customize the indicator's parameters and conduct thorough backtesting to align it with your specific trading strategy and preferences before using it for live trading.
Disclaimer: This indicator is provided for educational and informational purposes only. Trading involves risks, and it is important to exercise caution and conduct your own analysis before making any investment decisions.
High Volume Daily Warning Signal- Jesse Livermore // values are in %, so on right Y axis a value of 50 means 50% above the average volume of set length (default of 20)
These important confirming volume spurts often end the day with a 50 percent to 500 percent increase in the average daily volume of the stock. - Jesse Livermore

Volume Divergence IndicatorThe Volume Divergence Indicator is a powerful tool that can help traders identify potential price reversals in the market by analyzing volume data. The indicator has several features, including divergences signals, volume spikes, volume contractions, and volume trend signals.
Unlike most divergence indicators, this one is focused on providing non-repainting alerts. That is why I chose not to use pivot points.
The Volume Divergence Indicator can be used as an overlay or a non-overlay. The overlay mode displays the indicator on top of the price chart, while the non-overlay mode displays the indicator below the price chart.
The indicator has five alerts that can be used to generate alerts:
Bullish Divergence : This alert is generated when prices are making lower lows, but volume is making higher lows. This suggests that the selling pressure is weakening, and a bullish reversal may be imminent.
Bearish Divergence : This alert is generated when prices are making higher highs, but volume is making lower highs. This suggests that the buying pressure is weakening, and a bearish reversal may be imminent.
Volume Spike : This alert is generated when volume spikes above a certain threshold, such as two standard deviations above the moving average. This suggests that there is unusual buying or selling activity in the market, and traders may want to pay attention to the price movements that follow.
Volume Contraction : This alert is generated when volume contracts to a certain level, such as two standard deviations below the moving average. This suggests that there is little buying or selling activity in the market, and traders may want to be cautious until volume picks up again.
Volume Trend : This alert is generated when volume trends above or below the moving average for a certain number of periods, such as five or ten. This suggests that there is a sustained increase or decrease in buying or selling pressure, and traders may want to adjust their trading strategy accordingly.
To customize the indicator settings, users can adjust the following inputs:
Choose overlay mode: select either Overlay or Non-Overlay
Price and volume lookback: set the number of bars to look back for price and volume data
Bull and bear sensitivity: adjust the sensitivity of the bullish and bearish divergences
Volume MA length: set the length of the moving average used to calculate volume spikes and contractions
Sensitivity of spikes: adjust the sensitivity of the volume spikes
Sensitivity of contractions: adjust the sensitivity of the volume contractions
Trend sensitivity: set the number of periods to identify the volume trend
The Volume Divergence Indicator can be a valuable addition to any trader's toolkit. It can help traders identify potential price reversals in the market, as well as unusual buying or selling activity.
I am open to suggestions for further updates or additions.
Volume / Open Interest "Footprint" - By LeviathanThis script generates a footprint-style bar (profile) based on the aggregated volume or open interest data within your chart's visible range. You can choose from three different heatmap visualizations: Volume Delta/OI Delta, Total Volume/Total OI, and Buy vs. Sell Volume/OI Increase vs. Decrease.
How to use the indicator:
1. Add it to your chart.
2. The script will use your chart's visible range and generate a footprint bar on the right side of the screen. You can move left/right, zoom in/zoom out, and the bar's data will be updated automatically.
Settings:
- Source: This input lets you choose the data that will be displayed in the footprint bar.
- Resolution: Resolution is the number of rows displayed in a bar. Increasing it will provide more granular data, and vice versa. You might need to decrease the resolution when viewing larger ranges.
- Type: Choose between 3 types of visualization: Total (Total Volume or Total Open Interest increase), UP/DOWN (Buy Volume vs Sell Volume or OI Increase vs OI Decrease), and Delta (Buy Volume - Sell Volume or OI Increase - OI Decrease).
- Positive Delta Levels: This function will draw boxes (levels) where Delta is positive. These levels can serve as significant points of interest, S/R, targets, etc., because they mark the zones where there was an increase in buy pressure/position opening.
- Volume Aggregation: You can aggregate volume data from 8 different sources. Make sure to check if volume data is reported in base or quote currency and turn on the RQC (Reported in Quote Currency) function accordingly.
- Other settings mostly include appearance inputs. Read the tooltips for more info.
Volume Anomaly DetectorThis indicator is designed to detect volume anomalies such as block orders, large institutional orders, and sweep orders. It works by comparing the current volume to the moving average of volume and identifying deviations that exceed a specified threshold. By detecting anomalous volume, it can help traders identify potential market-moving events and anticipate changes in price direction.
One key difference between this indicator and others is its focus on volume anomalies rather than just overall volume or price movements. This can provide traders with additional insights into market conditions and help them identify trading opportunities that may not be visible using other indicators.
In terms of timeframe and market conditions, this indicator can be used on any timeframe and in any market where volume data is available. However, it may be particularly useful in markets with high liquidity and significant institutional participation, such as equities and futures markets. It may also be most effective during periods of heightened volatility or when significant news or events are expected to impact the market. As with any trading indicator, it's important to use it in conjunction with other tools and analysis to confirm signals and make informed trading decisions.
Volume scaled Price + auto colour change light/dark mode🔶 OVERVIEW
🔹 This script shows price in a similar style as volume . To accomplish this we use the body of the candle ( close - open ), which is placed on a zero line.
This can be useful when comparing volume ~ price .
🔹 3 options are included to show additional lines, to make comparisons easier:
· Percentile nearest rank
· Bollinger Bands (BB)
· Simple Moving Average (SMA)
🔶 SETTINGS
🔹 Option : choose whether to show price (candles) or volume . Adding 2 versions of this indicator on the chart enables you to compare these 2 options:
🔹 Lines:
· (Percentile nearest rank (only the setting mult is used for this option).
· Bollinger Bands (BB) (only the setting % perc. nearest rank is used for this option).
· Simple Moving Average (SMA )
All 3 options will use length , this is the amount of bars used for calculations.
🔹 Show wick will show you... wicks :)
🔶 PERCENTILE NEAREST RANK
🔹 This script has 2 extra types of background color
dvP = volume > volume and z < z and z < prP_ and volume > prV
· In this case:
· volume is higher than previous volume ( volume > volume )
· volume is above 90th percentile rank ( volume > prV )
· price is lower than previous price ( z < z )
· price is below 10th percentile rank ( z < prP_ )
dvV = volume < volume and z > z and z > prP and volume < prV_
· The second type background color is reversed ( volume lower, price higher)
🔶 AUTOMATIC COLOUR CHANGE WHEN SWITCHING DARK/LIGHT MODE
🔹 chart.bg_color returns the color of the chart’s background from the "Chart settings/Appearance/Background" field, while chart.fg_color returns a color providing optimal contrast with chart.bg_color .
· Following technique gives you the possibility to pick your own colour for either dark/light time.
· We first retrieve separately the red, green and blue component of the measured chart.bg_color
r = color.r(chart.bg_color)
g = color.g(chart.bg_color)
b = color.b(chart.bg_color)
The following assumption states when all 3 colour components' values are below 80, we are in the dark mode:
isDark = r < 80 and g < 80 and b < 80
Now we can use isDark to automatically show your own dark/light mode colours (chosen at settings), dependable on the mode:
Cheers!
Volume Cross ━ (For Volume Crop) [whvntr]This fulfills a request from user: iTibu to make an oscillator to go along with one of my indicators named: " Volume Crop ━ Hidden Volume Divergence ". It essentially does the same thing, without the Midline Tool , so you can better understand where the crosses are happening. Again, the hidden MACD Divergence circles formula originated from TheLark. I converted these values to volume instead of price.

Price Weighted Volume MA (PWVMA)Title: "Price Weighted Volume Moving Average Indicator for TradingView"
Abstract: This script presents a TradingView indicator that displays the price weighted volume moving average (PWVMA) of a financial asset. The PWVMA is a technical analysis tool that helps traders visualize the relationship between price and volume over a specified period of time. The script offers two PWVMA calculation methods: the standard volume moving average (VMA) and the exponentially smoothed volume moving average (EVMA). The user can choose between these methods and customize the length and reset (session weighting) parameters of the moving average. The PWVMA is plotted on the chart alongside the volume data for easy comparison and analysis.
Introduction: In financial markets, volume is an important factor that can provide insights into the strength of a trend or the intensity of buying or selling pressure. The PWVMA is a variant of the volume moving average (VMA) that takes into account the price of the asset in the calculation. This makes the PWVMA more sensitive to price changes and helps traders understand the underlying dynamics of the market.
Methodology: The PWVMA is calculated by dividing the sum of the product of volume and price over a specified period by the sum of the price over the same period. In the VMA method, this calculation is performed using a simple moving average. In the EVMA method, the calculation uses an exponentially smoothed moving average, which gives greater weight to more recent data points.
Implementation: The script is implemented in TradingView's PineScript language and can be easily added to any chart on the platform. The user can choose between the VMA and EVMA methods and adjust the length and reset (session weighting) parameters as needed. The PWVMA is plotted on the chart alongside the volume data, allowing traders to compare and analyze the relationship between the two.
Conclusion: The PWVMA is a useful technical analysis tool that helps traders understand the relationship between price and volume in the market. This script provides a convenient and customizable implementation of the PWVMA for use in TradingView.

Volume RSIThis is an indicator that shows the inflow and outflow of volume into a financial instrument. Volume is likely one of the most underrated source of data in trading unfortunately so there seems to be a lack of studies on it. The size of the candle is related to the strength of the move. The calculations for this are: cumulative sum of +volume if open < close OR -volume if open > close. This has been now transformed into an rsi style indicator to give a distinct advantage (or atleast thats the idea). The idea is that we take rsi of candles so we might as well take the rsi of volume candles. As far as I can tell it is faster/its own thing compared to regular rsi. I ave also added a smoothing option. Dont forget you can change the settings and you wont die. Thank you for your interest in this release I hope you find great piles of money with it.

Volume Candles Standardized (VCS)This is an indicator that shows the inflow and outflow of volume into a financial instrument. Volume is likely one of the most underrated source of data in trading unfortunately so there seems to be a lack of studies on it. The size of the candle is related to the strength of the move. The calculations for this are: cumulative sum of +volume if open < close OR -volume if open > close. I have added percentile bands so you know where the neutral zones and strong zones are. Interestingly you can also see what the volume is doing by watching where the neutral zone is. If the volume is in the red or green it is a strong move. This is standardized to make it more useful. Now you can see where the exhaustion points are on the short term. Dont forget you can change the settings and you wont die. Thank you for your interest in this release I hope you find great piles of money with it.
Volume percentrank[TV1]Volume percentrank
Volume normalized by percentile.
The indicator calculates the percentile of the trading volume . The volume in the base asset or quote asset can be selected as data. To calculate the volume of a quoted asset, the closing price or another standard method for calculating the price of a bar can be used.
A feature of percentile calculation with a small data sample length is low accuracy. Despite the fact that the script allows you to calculate a percentile with a length of 1, using a percentile length less than 100 is not recommended.
The percentile calculation method does not allow correctly calculating the percentile at the beginning of the chart due to the lack of all data in the selection, therefore, when the date of the first bar changes (this happens on small timeframes if the TradingView subscription does not allow you to see all historical data), the indicator will be repainted up to the bar number equal to the percentile sample length.
Huge values of the percentile length may cause a script error. If the indicator doesn't work, just make the percentile length smaller.
BTC Agg VolumeBTC Volumes for stablecoin trading pairs from multiple exchanges. Volume is grouped by exchanged and appears as stacked bars. Volume data can be filtered by exchange and stablecoin pair. Appearance can be resized over with an option to apply standard deviations.
Financial VolumeFinancial Volume is the quantity of a certain asset traded mutiplied by its price. In other others, it's the amount of money traded for that particular asset.
TradingView uses the "quantity" volume as standard (for a good reason) and actually there is no "right" volume but the quantity volume alone might give the wrong idea.
In the shown example the stock crashed from 20's to below 2 brl. Since it got cheaper, it became easier to trade it and the quantity volume increased. But the amount of of money traded actually decreased, indicating less interest from the market.
Also back in the stock's golden age, the quantity volume stayed flat but the amount of money was actually increasing indicating the market was more interested in that stock.
Volume [Educational]Hello All,
This is an educational work and it's developed to show how to write scripts that will work like built-in volume indicator.
We have new features in Pine Script™ Language, such chart.bg_color, chart.fg_color, chart.left_visible_bar_time, chart.right_visible_bar_time and many more. Many Thanks to Tradingview and Pine Team for such great additions!
You can find more information about these new functions here .
How the script works?
- At the first step it calculates how many visible bar on the chart by using chart.right_visible_bar_time and chart.left_visible_bar_time functions.
- Calculates the zero line for the volume
- Finds maximum volume on visible area and normalize all volume values
- Draws volume bars
- Shows volume info as indicator value. in this step it uses chart.fg_color and plotarrow() commands to show the values in optimum color.
In order to place the indicator at the bottom of the chart, Please set Bottom Margin = 0 as shown in the following screenshot:
You can change the volume bar colors optionally.
An Example screenshot with different volume bar colors:
Enjoy!

Lowry Upside % VolumeThis script takes the total NYSE volume for the day and determines what percentage of that volume is Upside Volume (or buying volume).
What's different in this script compared to others is that the 3 most essential values determined by Paul F. Desmond's Dow Award-winning paper for Lowry's Reports are color coded:
1) 90% Upside Volume Day
2) 80% Upside Volume Day
3) 90% Downside Volume Day
According to Paul's award-winning research, these precise criteria are objective definitions of panic selling and panic buying and are generally near major market tops and bottoms.
His Dow Award-winning paper on the topic can be explored and scrutinized in more detail here:
