Knowing patterns is one thing, knowing when to enter the trade is another. A lot of traders start learning bazillion amount of chart patterns not paying attention to the most important part: when to properly enter the trade. Without too many words here is an illustration of entry points that are most suitable for different types of patterns.

In reality, when you miss a breakout there is 60-70% of a retest back from a previous major line. That's also another great place where we tend to execute our trades.
