Total is one of the leading worldwide oil groups. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
refining and chemistry (43.7%): refining of petroleum products (operated,at the end of 2019, 17 refineries throughout the world) and manufacture of basic chemistry (olefins, aromatics, polyethylene, fertilizer, etc.) and of specialty chemistry (rubber, resins, adhesives, etc.). The group is also operating in trading and sea transport of crude oil and oil products;
petroleum products distribution (43.6%) : at the end of 2019 operated 15,615 service stations throughout the world;
As you see this indicates it is nearly entirely reliant on Oil production.
With current Oil prices with low demand , low prices and ongoing negotiations this is shouting SHORT.
They also are currently battling with their competitor EDF who are currently dominating in the nucleur industry today.
They have been in negotiations to fix the competivness however EDF have been granted to carry on while TOTAL suffers.
With earnings coming up nothing indicccates to me how they can improve while also having liabilities of US$83.4b. And little cash amounts.
This in my view could see 25 then 23 again before possibly reversing
