Over the past twenty years, the global market share of the US Dollar has fallen from 71% to 59% and may continue to decline. The US will bear the brunt of this trend as the use of currencies in international trade is limited. When other currencies like the Yuan, real, or Rupee are used, the Dollar loses out. If other currencies become more popular, America's dominance in the global market will be at risk.
