This indicator shows five derived moving averages based on a daily simple moving average (daily MA).
The derived moving averages are projected along the daily MA on which they are based on the chart.
The period of the daily MA, and the percentages by which the derived moving averages are removed from the daily MA are adjustable.
The derived moving averages are shown both above and below the daily MA.
The derived moving averages act as support and resistance .
This indicator can be used for a wide array of markets.
As far as I know this indicator can be used for stocks, cryptocurrencies, futures , Forex and bond yields.
It only works on hourly time frames.

This is multi time frame simple moving average that is shown only on the specific timeframe; 5M, 15M, 30M, 1H, 4H.
Problem of conventional MTF moving average is that MTF MA is sometimes annoying especially when you look at upper timeframe such as daily chart and/or weekly chart.
e.g. You set 20 MA of 4 hour chart into 1 hour chart, however, when you look at daily chart, daily chart also shows 20MA of 4 hour chart which is unnecessary.
This is why I have developed this MTF SMA indicator shown only on the timeframe from 5M to 4 hour.
With this indicator, even if you set MA of upper timeframe(such as 4 hour) into Lower timeframe, that MA will not be shown on above daily chart.
You can customize adding or removing below code;
timeframe.period == “X”? security(syminfo.tickerid, res, sma(src, ma_len))
X is the timeframe that you would add/remove from the indicator.

このインジケーターでは、従来のマルチタイムフレーム移動平均線と同様に、設定元となる上位足の時間軸(4時間、日足など)を選択し、期間とソースを設定することができる一方で、表示されるのは5分足、15分足、30分足,1時間足、4時間足のみとなります。
スクリプトのMAの取得部分に以下コードを追加することで、必要な時間軸を追加・削除することが可能です。

This indicator estimates Bitcoin Block Height (Total Blocks) using Difficulty and Hash Rate in the most accurate way possible, since
QUANDL doesn't provide a direct source for Bitcoin Block Height (neither QUANDL:BCHAIN, nor QUANDL:BITCOINWATCH/MINING).
Bitcoin Block Height can be used in other calculations, for instance, to estimate the next date of Bitcoin Halving.
Using this indicator I demonstrate:
- that QUANDL data is not accurate and differ from Blockchain source data (industry standard), but still can be used in calculations
- how to plot a series of data points from an external csv source and compare it with another source
- how to accurately estimate Bitcoin Block Height
Features:
- compare QUANDL Difficulty source (EOD, D1) with external Blockchain Difficulty csv source (EOD, D1, embedded)
- show/hide Quandl/Blockchain Difficulty curves

WARNING:
- This indicator hits the max 1000 vars limit, adding more plots/vars/data points is not possible
- Both QUANDL/Blockchain provide daily EOD data and must be plotted on a daily D1 chart otherwise results will be incorrect
- current chart must not have any time gaps inside the range (time gaps outside the range don't affect the calculation). Time gaps check is provided.
Otherwise hardcoded Blockchain series will be shifted forward on gaps and the whole sequence become truncated at the end => data comparison/total blocks estimate will be incorrect
Examples of valid charts that can run this indicator: COINBASE:BTCUSD,D1 (has 8 time gaps, 34 missing bars outside the range), QUANDL:BCHAIN/DIFF,D1 (has no gaps)
Usage:
- Description of output plot values from left to right:
- c_shifted - 4x blockchain plotcandles ohlc, green/black (default na)
- diff - QUANDL Difficulty
- c_shifted - Blockchain Difficulty with offset
- QUANDL Difficulty multiplied by alpha and rounded

- by default the indicator will show lots of vertical aqua lines, 138 differences, 928 bars, total error -370 blocks
- to compare the best match of the 2 sources shift Blockchain source 1 bar into the future by setting Blockchain Difficulty offset = 1, leave alpha = 0.01 =>
this results in no vertical aqua lines, 0 differences, total_error = 0 blocks
if you move the mouse inside the range some bars will show total_error = 1 blocks => total_error <= 1 blocks
- now uncheck Round Difficulty Values flag => some filled aqua areas, 218 differences.
- now set alpha = 1 (use raw source values) instead of 0.01 => lots of filled aqua areas, 871 differences.
although there are many differences this still doesn't affect the total_blocks estimate provided Difficulty offset = 1
Methodology:
To estimate Bitcoin Block Height we need 3 steps, each step has its own version:
- Step 1: Compare QUANDL Difficulty vs Blockchain Difficulty sources and estimate error based on differences
- Step 2: Compare QUANDL Hash Rate vs Blockchain Hash Rate sources and estimate error based on differences
- Step 3: Estimate Bitcoin Block Height (Total Blocks) using different methods in the most accurate way possible
QUANDL doesn't provide block time data, but we can calculate it using the Hash Rate approximation formula:
estimated Hash rate/sec H = 2^32 * D / T, where D - Difficulty, T - block time, sec
1. block time (T) can be derived from the formula, since we already know Difficulty (D) and Hash Rate (H) from QUANDL
2. using block time (T) we can estimate daily blocks as daily time / block time
3. block height (total blocks) = cumulative sum of daily blocks of all bars on the chart (that's why having no gaps is important)
Notes:
- This code uses Pinescript v3 compatibility framework
- hash rate is in THash/s, although QUANDL falsely states in description GHash/s! THash = 1000 GHash
- you can't read files, can only embed/hardcode raw data in script
- both QUANDL and Blockchain sources have no gaps
- QUANDL and Blockchain series are different in the following ways:
- all QUANDL data is already shifted 1 bar into the future, i.e. prev day's value is shown as cur day's value => Blockchain data must be shifted 1 bar forward to match
- all QUANDL diff data > 1 bn (10^12) are truncated and have last 1-2 digits as zeros, unlike Blockchain data => must multiply both values by 0.01 and floor/round the results
- QUANDL sometimes rounds, other times truncates those 1-2 last zero digits to get the 3rd last digit => must use both floor/round
- you can only shift sequences forward into the future (right), not back into the past (left) using positive offset => only Blockchain source can be shifted
- since total_blocks is already a cumulative sum of all prev values on each bar, total_error must be simple delta, can't be also int(cum()) or incremental
- all Blockchain values and total_error are na outside the range - move you mouse cursor on the last bar/inside the range to see them
TLDR, ver 1.0 Conclusion:
QUANDL/Blockchain Difficulty source differences don't affect total blocks estimate, total error <= 1 block with avg 150 blocks/day is negligible
Both QUANDL/Blockchain Difficulty sources are equally valid and can be used in calculations. QUANDL is a relatively good stand in for Blockchain industry standard data.

Usage:

Stochastic binary option styleUsing Time Frames For Trend – You can also use different time frames to determine trends with stochastic. To do this you will need to use two different time frame charts, I like to use the weekly/daily or daily/hourly combination depending on the asset. Weekly/daily works well with stocks and indices while I prefer the shorter time frame for currency and commodities. This is how it works; stochastic on the longer term chart sets trend, stochastic on the shorter term chart gives the signal. If, on the weekly chart, stochastic is pointing up then you would trade bullish signals on the daily charts. Or if using the daily/hourly combo the stochastic on the daily would set trend while signals would come from the hourly chart.
Green color bar and background means k is > d, the crowd is bullish (trend is bullish, a bullish crossover is happened), red is the contrary (bears are the leaders)

ATR based Pivots mcbwHey everyone this is an exciting new script I have prepared for you.
I was reading an old forex bulletin article some time ago when I came across this: solar.murty.net (or you can download the full bulletin with lots of other good articles here: www.forexfactory.com).
You can already buy this for metatrader (www.mql5.com) so I figured to make it for free for tradingview.
This bulletin suggested that you can reasonably predict daily volatility by adding or subtracting multiples of the daily ATR to the daily opening. Using this you can choose multiples to use as price targets and alternatively as stop losses. For example, if you already have a sense of market direction you can buy at market open place a stop loss at - 1 daily ATR and a profit target at + 3 ATRs for a risk to reward ratio of 3. If you are looking for smaller/quicker moves with a ratio of 3 you can have a stop loss at -0.25 ATR and a take profit at +0.75 ATR.
Alternatively this article also suggests to use this method to catch volatility breakouts. If price is higher than the + 1 ATR area then you can safely assume it will be going to the +2 ATR area so you can put a buy stop at + 1 ATR with a profit target at + 2 ATR with a stop loss at +0.5 ATR to catch a volatility breakout with a risk to reward ratio of 2!
Even further there are methods that you can use with ATRs of multiple window sizes, for example by opening two copies of this indicator and measuring recent volatility with a 1 week window and long term volatility within a 1 month window. If the short term volatility is crossing the long term volatility then there is a high probability chance that even more price movement will occur.
However I have found that this method is good for more than daily volatility , it can also be used to measure weekly volatility , and monthly volatility and use these multiples as good long term price targets.
To select if you want daily, weekly, or monthly values of the ATR of volatility you're using go to the settings and click on the options in the "Opening period". The default window of the ATR here is 14 periods, but you can change this if you want to in "ATR period". Most importantly you are able to select which multiples of the ATR you would like to use in the settings in "ATR multiple 1" which is the green line, "ATR multiple 2" which is the blue line, and "ATR multiple 3" which is the purple line. You can select any values you want to put in these, the choice of 0.25, 0.5, and 1 is not special, some people use fibonacci numbers here or simply 0.33, 0.66, and 0.99.
Repainting issue: This script uses the daily value of the Average True Range (ATR), which measures the volatility that is happening today. If price becomes more volatile then the value of the ATR can increase throughout the day, but it can never decrease. What this means is that the ATR based pivots are able to expand away from the opening price, which should not affect the trades that you take based on these areas. If you base your take profit on one of these ATR multiples and the daily volatility increase this means that your take profit area will be closer to your entry than the ATR multiple. Meaning that your trades will be more conservative.
While this all may sound very technical it is super intuitive, throw this on your chart and play around with it :)

Overlay Higher Timeframe EMA 10Plot the daily and weekly EMA 10 on any timeframe.
The Daily EMA 10 is useful for helping a trader decide whether the price is overextended without switching back to the daily timeframe and losing focus. It will change colour to indicate which order the EMA 10 and EMA 20 is in.
The Weekly EMA 10 is useful for helping a trader decide whether to take a trade based on long term momentum. If it is over the current price then the market has more momentum to the downside and if it is under then the market has more momentum to the upside. It will also change colour depending on which order the EMA 10 and EMA 20 is in. The weekly is often forgotten in trade planning.
You can switch the Daily and the Weekly on and off independently and change styles if you wish.

Awesome Moving AveragesThis script allows you to add up to four simple and exponential moving averages the the chart instead of adding 4 simple moving averages and 4 exponential moving averages individually.
The stronger lines are SMA's and the thinner lines are EMA's.
White - "1st SMA" and "1st EMA"
Green - "2nd SMA" and "2nd EMA"
Blue - "3rd SMA" and "3rd EMA"
Red - "4th SMA" and "4th EMA"
You can modify which moving averages are visible on the chart and also modify the period of the moving averages.
There are four periods which you can edit - each period applies to a pair of moving averages (a pair of SMA and EMA). For example: "1st MA Length" option applies to "1st SMA" and "1st EMA" etc.

For example - here we have only "1st SMA" and "1st EMA" enabled and we are viewing a daily chart:
Now if we have "Keep Daily MA Resolution On Intraday Periods" option enabled we would see the daily moving averages (SMA and EMA) on intraday periods. Here we are viewing a 4h chart:
If you disable this option you would see the moving averages on intraday charts with the intraday MA lengths as you expect:
"Visible MA's On Intraday Periods" option allows you to choose which MA's you would like to be visible on intraday charts if the "Keep Daily MA Resolution On Intraday Periods" option is enabled.

Adapted from the MMAR standard so that I can see daily MA/SMA's directly from the 4hr chart. regular counts included and day counts shown in titles.
I use this with the 50ma, 14 daily, 30 daily, 50 daily, 100 & 200 daily active, the rest disabled.

MTF EMAExponential Moving Average indicator that can be configured to display different timeframe EMA's.
Timeframe is set in minutes. Max timeframe currently is the daily (1440 minutes). Any value higher than 1440 will result in no plot.
Examples:
Daily 50 EMA plotted on 4H chart
4H 50 EMA and Daily 50 EMA plotted on 1H chart
Can also work in reverse if needed.
Example, Daily 50 EMA plotted on Weekly Chart
Multi-Timeframe VWAPShows the Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly VWAP.
Also shows the previous closing VWAP, which is usually very near the HLC3 standard pivot for the previous time frame. i.e. The previous daily VWAP closing price is usually near the current Daily Pivot. Tickers interact well with the previous Daily and Weekly closing VWAP.
Enabling the STDEV bands shows 3 separate standard deviation levels, defaulted at 1, 2, and 3. The lookback period for the bands is always changing with each new bar, since the standard deviation is calculated from the current bar to the beginning of the period. This is different from bollinger bands, as the lookback is constant (usually 20 periods is the textbook default).
The STDEV bands interval of interest can be changed from Day (D), Week (W), Month (M), Quarter (Q), Year (Y).
Tickers tend to bounce very well on Daily, Weekly, and Yearly VWAP (Yes... Year). Use this code and observe the Year VWAP on several major symbols through the past few years and eyes will be opened.
KK_Average Directional Index (ADX) Higher TFHey guys,
sometimes you just want to plot an Indicator value from a higher Timeframe on your Chart. For most Indicators this is pretty straightforward however there is one Indicator that has been giving me quite a headache while trying to do this: The Average Directional Index . Anyway after going through almost 200 versions of this script I finally found a solution that works and thought I would share this with you, since I'm sure some of you have encountered the same problem.
How it works
Go to your desired Instrument/Timeframe and add the Script
Under Settings in the field for "Higher ADX TF" put the Timeframe-code you want to pull the ADX Values from.
- Codes: Monthly - M, Weekly W, Daily - D
- Codes Intraday: The amount of hours in minutes, e.g. if you want to pull values from the 4h-Chart the code is 240 (60 for 1h, 15 for 15m ...)
In some cases (see below) the calculation might not be correct. So make sure the values are correct:
a) Write down the latest ADX of the higher TF while you are on the lower TF
b) Switch the Resolution to the higher TF
c) Compare the value you have just written down to the next to last value. They should be the same.
d) Switch back the Resolution to the lower TF and you're good to go.
Limitations
You can only pull values from higher Timeframes, e.g. you're on a 4h Chart, so you can only pull values from the Daily, Weekly and Monthly Chart. You can't pull values from the 1h Chart.
You can only pull values from Timeframes, where the higher Timeframe Close always has a corresponding Close on the lower Timeframe, e.g. you can't pull values from the 3h Chart when you are on a 2h Chart. This should be pretty rare.
The Script needs a certain amount of Data from the Higher TF before the calculated values are correct. I have tested this on several Instruments and the Script usually needs approximately 100 Bars on the higher Timeframe (often less) for the values to be correct (error < 1%).
So when the difference between your lower Timeframe and you higher Timeframe is large, e.g. you want to pull the Daily ADX value on a 15m-Chart, the calculation can be wrong. This can lead to errors in 2 Cases:
a) Backtesting: When you go over old data and get close to the last available Bar the Data will be wrong. This will limit the amount of data you can backtest.
b) Live values: When the difference between the two Timeframes is too large, it is possible that even live values are wrong, e.g. this will be the case when you are trying to pull the Daily ADX value on a 5 minute Chart. Always check if the calculation works with your desired combination of Timeframes before using it (see above).

Following updates made to the code
1. Added a 22 Period Simple moving average filter over and above the standard JNSAR value for generating trading signals. This simple filter reduces the whipsaw trades drastically along with similar improvements in the max draw down and overall profitability of the system. The SMA filter is turned ON by default but can be turned OFF by user through the settings window.
2. Backtest option is now turned ON by default.
Also am republishing the trading rules here again with some modification
1. Go Long when the daily close is above the JNSAR line. Go Short when the daily close is below the JNSAR line. JNSAR line is the varying green line overlayed over the price chart. Once a signal comes at market close enter in the direction of the signal @ market price @ next day market open.
2. Trade only Nifty -0.14% Index. This system was developed and backtested only for NIFTY -0.14% Index. So trade in its Futures or Options, as you may deem fit. My recommendation is to choose futures for simplicity. If you want to reduce the trading cost and go with options, trade with deep in the money options, preferably 2 strikes far from the spot price.
3. Trade all signals. Markets trend only 30-35% of the time and hence the system is only accurate to that extend. But system tends to make enough money, in this small trending window, to keep the overall profitability in good health. But one never knows when a big trend may come and when it comes its absolutely imperative that you take it. To ensure that, trade all signals and don't be choosy about what signals you are going to trade. Also I wouldn't recommend using your own analysis to trade this system. Too many drivers will crash the car.
4. Like all trend following systems, this system will have many whipsaws during flat markets along with large trade and account drawdowns. Also some months and even years may not be profitable. But to trade this system profitably, it is necessary to take these in one's stride and keep trading. As the backtester results from 1990 to 2017 proves, this system is profitable overall thus far. Take confidence from that objective fact.
5. Trade with only that amount of money you can afford to loose. Initial capital that you need to have to trade one lot of NIFTY -0.14% should be atleast - (Margin Money required to take and hold 1 lot position + maximum drawdown amount per lot)*1.2. Be prepared to add more if need be, but the above formula will give a rough idea of what you need to have to start trading and be in the game always.
6. Place an After Market Order @ Market Price with your broker after market close so that you get to execute the trade next trading day @ Market open to capture near similar price as the daily open price seen on the chart. This execution mode will give you the best chance to minimize the slippage and mimic the backtester results as closely as practically possible.
7. Follow all the 6 rules above religiously, as if your life depends on it. If you cant, then don't trade this system; You will certainly loose money.
