Rational decision making theory is not applicable in this rapidly changing world.
-There is just not enough time;
-Overload of information;
-Little or no knowledge about what the impact of Covid will be;
One of the dillemas of modern life is that with increasing time pressures, increasing amounts of information, and an increasing number of choices, we must rely more and more on heuristic decision making theory. Which in turn presents new problems:
- The cues that we possess may be false;
- A rule may be appropriate in certain situations, but be misapplied in others;
- Heuristics can be easily faked and manipulated
How will the masses behave, where is the world headed ..
Lineair thinkers in een exponentially changing world.
At least we don't have to bore ourselves ;)
