Earlier this week, I had a quick chat exchange (on the world's largest professional social networking platform) with a retired "chief investment officer", who had stated something to the effect of "the russian ruble is the strongest currency of 2022"... there was some more ranting about russia's increased gold reserves driving the "increased value" blah blah blah...
Amid a pool of crony-like / evidently agreeable replies, from other commentators with "CFA" & "CPA" following their surnames, I asked a simple question of the person who made the "strong ruble" comment:
should we trade our dollars for rubles?
To my surprise, this person actually replied. Lol... He recommended a book and claimed that he is not registered to provide financial advise. Sure.
Why is this important?
explain currency value in the productive economy.
I have a better idea: instead of wasting our time with some irrelevant book, let's watch the ruble collapse against the US Dollar.
