On 10/11/18, US indices experienced normal volatility (-4.07%). Although short interest was higher than any other day in history.
US equities such as the SPX, continued to sell off through the end of the week and has now been closed since Friday and futures (US30usd) are looking grim.

Ironically, at such a moment as this, the prices of cryptocurrencies across the board have begun to spike (ethusd, btc). This comes as a shock because the crypto market is normally very sensitive to the fluctuations of major technology companies such as GOOG, AAPL, and IBM. Note: These stocks have not yet opened for trading.

An unlikely but not impossible explanation for this oddity could be that a fundamental change in the monetary system is making it's first appearance in companies that are the most heavily rooted in fiat.

While the idea is a stretch, US indices on Monday's opening bell will be a telltale sign of the imminent future for cryptocurrency.
